2022 Letter to Alumni
Greetings from the K-State Alumni Band!
It was great seeing so many of you back at Bill Snyder Family Stadium for the Alumni Band Day and reunion. We had nearly 150 former members of The Pride back in “uniform” and despite the hot day, it was a great event. Our goal is to return to an every year event, whether that’s a full reunion or just a group tailgate party, so be sure and keep tabs on Facebook, as well as get signed up for our email list.
Speaking of email list, we upgraded to using MailChimp, and so we have an easy way for you to get added to the email list. Just head over to the to the “Get In Touch” tab to find the sign-up form.
While here, be sure and check out the updated website. After many, many years of hosting and running the website for us for free, Troy Johnson needed to step back from his role and so we migrated things this past summer. We wish to extend our deepest thanks to Troy for providing his talents to the Alumni Band for so long.
We also go to see many of you at the three basketball games we helped cover this season, and we were joined by really strong groups of area high school students. We even got to be there for an incredible game, when the women’s basketball team beat Baylor for the first time since 2004!
The KSUAB also provided our regular donation to the KSUMB Golf Tournament. And it was great to be able to award our annual scholarship in person again this year, with this year’s recipient being head drum major Gillian Falcon. We didn’t give out a senior gift this year, but instead we plan on purchasing several bricks for the new Tracz Family Band Hall when those come available.
And as always, we want to make sure we can reach you so you have all the latest news. Make sure you follow the K-State Alumni Band Facebook group, and if you are not on our email list, or you know someone who is not, please head over to the KSUAB webpage and get signed up so we can make sure we are keeping you as up-to-date as possible on all the goings-on with the K-State Alumni Band. We’re also looking for ideas and ways to make the Alumni Band better, stronger, and more active. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to send me an email at [email protected].
Go Cats!

KSU Alumni Band
Who We Are
So what is it that we do as Alums other than to relive "This one time in band camp..."?
Our mission as an Alumni Band chapter is to "Provide Kansas State University Marching Band Alumni an arena to continue their band participation and to support the Kansas State University Marching Band program."
Reconnecting with Alumni
Every two years we have a Reunion where we meet with the KSU Marching Band and play with them on the field as time/commitment permits. We take this opportunity to also play in the parking lot gathering donations to help pay for the yearly Scholarship that is given to a current KSU Marching Band member. Although we are musicians at heart and want to play at every opportunity, we also have non-playing meet-ups.
Support the Bands
We help raise money so that every year, the Alumni Band supports one KSUMB member with a $500 scholarship. We also offer our musical talents to help play at K-State basketball games during the winter holidays.

Alumni Band Scholarship
Each year, the KSU Alumni Band works towards providing a one-time scholarship of $500 to a deserving member of the KSU Marching Band. Money for this scholarship comes from membership dues, as well as donations that we receive during alumni pep band events, such as the tailgate parking lot band at the Reunion.
Quite often we are able to fund the Alumni Band scholarship for the year by playing pep band tunes for tailgate parties in the stadium parking lot prior to going into the stadium for the game.
